If you install one, I recommend the  apac1_Blu as it is the only one unbranded...

Sorry, but I don't understand! Is this an ófficial' upgrade? As *#0000# still gives me 'No updates available' message.  My phone is not hacked and covered by Nokia warranty so don't want to invalidate that.

Where is the apac1_Blu available from? Does the colour really make a difference? My phone happent to be blue, but I thought that was only to do with the case, not anything to do with what was inside!

Sorry if I appear naive, but apart from about 4 months with a 5800, this is my first real experience with a serious Nokia phone.  I have been with Windows Mobile for the past 6 or 7 years - (and hope i don't have to go back there!). Thanks for your help and patience with a Nokia Newbie  Grin

Those are the firmwares available on navifirm...
apac_blu is the unbranded software for Malaysia... If you bought your phone from nokia there... others are from carriers

Mine N8 will get it this week, this table IS UPDATED EVERYDAY

edit:
my phone does not have fm transmitter option installed. Will this update fix that?

Nope, as far as I know at this version there is nothing related to the FM transmitter, but that's odd, every N8 has already the FM Transmitter....

Why do you say that yours doesn't?

Well I was out on the woods today and wadda know I checked and I got the update I had a great 3g connection so the update took only minutes...so it is here in the east coast USA on unbranded/ unlocked N8.

It has (probably Smiley ) but the program is, for some reason, deleted. I thought the update will fix that.

Edit: The reason for that could be the fact that in some countries fm transmitter is forbidden.

Finally got the update last night for the US. Weird but after the update completed, all my contacts were gone. My wifes N8 still had them after the update. So I just transferred by wifes contacts to mine. The biggest differences I can see is: 1. Angry birds is alot smoother. 2. Opening and Closing Menus are slightly faster. 3. Rotation is noticeably faster.

I could not tell any difference with the web browser. Also I did notice today transitioning from my home wifi to cellular 3G didn't work so well this morning. Every time I opened the browser it said out of memory. So I just restarted the phone and now everything is working well. I hope I don't have to do this every day.
