SOLUTION:

.Settings
..Connectivity
...Settings
....Destinations --> Click Internet then DELETE all access points.

You may still have applications in the background accessing the internet connection. For example, if you have an email widget, then even if you disconnect, it will still try to locate any wifi hotspot and if any connection is possible, then it will reconnect.
