Hi,I'm Mickey and just love the N8 symbian^3 phone, except for the above problem. I sign up for the smart plan unlimited internet and the problem started and the phone's battery is draining rather fast. I've check with the network provider help line and they all seem to insist that since I have unlimited internet, the sign will always be showing! My mistake was requesting for phone set up from network provider(mms, wap, sms and streaming etc.) and it was sms to me and I save it as recommended. The problem persist even after all the necessary setting like "Always ask" and "when needed" in the connectivity setting. One very helpful network provider staff, Mr.Sia was my saviour! I happen to bump into him at one of their mobile outlet in a shopping complex.
He obliged when I explain the problem to him and ask for my phone and immediately started to set it. Here is what he did:
1.Menu>setting>Destination and deleted all links under Uncategorised access point except for the 1st one from network provider. There were 7 uncategorised access point previously such as stream, wap, sms etc. Viola! Problem solved and connection now will always ask me and internet connection sign disappear after I log out. Battery should last longer now. Thanks to Mr. Sia! Hope this post will help those that have the same problem.  Cool
