is there a problem with predictive text? mine isn't working. any ideas?

I had a similar problem 2 weeks after I bought the phone. It suddenly lost the predictive text configuration by itself, I'm assuming it was due the installation of an app. But in the first 2 weeks I installed and removed so many apps, so I can't be sure.

What solved the problem for me was the "battery reset".

Hold power key for over 8 seconds, it will disconnect the battery and turn it on again after a few seconds.

Thank you Mauricio, I think you're right. I had been installing new aps. I power cycled the phone and now it's working again.
