I currently have the Nokia N8 and am synchronizing everything through the Ovi Suite. It's been very successful, HOWEVER, after a couple days I sync is again, the Ovi Suite would be stuck in "Waiting to Sync" message.

It works after I uninstall completely and reinstall. Anyone have a problem with this? I have more that the system requirements and should be able to run it without any problems. Perhaps this is something with the phone itself that I have to set?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

My guess (and it is only a guess) is that the problem is at the server end.  They seem to be working some kinks out on that site.  (OK, they seem to be experiencing problems and I hope that they are working them out Grin).

Best,

I actually found that that it is Ovi Suite itself, there seems to be a bug that Nokia will be fixing (hopefully). I got this information from a different forum, as for now I will have to uninstall and reinstall to sync nescessary items. Hopefully there will be an update from Nokia soon...

If anybody finds a way around it please share.

Currently I found 1 solution to where I dont need to uninstall the program everytime I want to sync.

Just go to options and select device.

Remove Device

Exit Program then open program back up

Add device

Hi, from French Switzerland,

I am very disapointed about the sync tools ovi suite and the N8. It don't work. first, I have install problems, than Ovi suite refused to sync because the system do not detect the usb cable, finally the connexion whas running, but next, and at the end, windows security blocked and shutdown the ovi suite programm when i open ovi. I am unable to sync my phone with my outlook where i have all my job stuff and appointments.  I hope that Nokia.com works hard to solve this problem that i saw in other forums...
If anybody have a solution, I be open !   Wink

Hello,

excuse my english, I'm French.

Try to disable your antirus software on PC.

On mine, autorun.inf on the mass storage is detected as virus and give no access to the N8

Disabling the antivirus resolve this

The last beta version of Ovi Suite 3.0 has only one issue. It does not Sync with Ovi Contacts in the cloud, but all other functions, including the ability to find the N8 and connect are flawless.

Last night I tried to update the Beta through the automatic update and It updated, but It was impossible to find the N8, I solved the problem downloading the Full Version of Ovi from the Ovi website, and it managed to find the N8, but crashed during sync.

Final Solution:

I had the installation file of the last Beta, so I uninstalled everytinhg and went back to the beta.

You should try to find the last beta  file somewhere in Internet

Best regards,

Mauricio

So what you're saying is that OVI on your phone will not sync contacts to ovi.com?

Mine does the same, won't sync contacts from my phone to the ovi.com site...

Any ideas on how I can fix this??
