I just bought this phone and I can connect to facebook, using my application I can open and surf using Opera Browser. However when I click on the browser button at the front screen, it tries to connect and it say Connection Fail.  the same thing happens when I try to open Ovi maps and gps maps.  It tries the first access point connection then the next and both fail.  I don’t understand why for some apps it works but not on others.  Someone suggested hard resetting it.  I have two access points set us Internet.mobilecompany.com and the same thing again for Packet Data.

Is there a better browser (something Fire) that I can install and use as the default browser through the Ovi store.  I want to bring it up to the front screen

what access point do you use for Opera? did u try using wifi? Try changing the AP (I use ask when needed) and homepage(m.google.com) from -
Web Browser>Options>Settings>General

Try installing this version of OVI maps (http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/ovi-maps-for-mobile-v3-07) and try changing access point by - Maps>Settings button>Extras>Settings>Internet>Destination (Internet for wifi,Wap for 3g/gprs, your destinantion configuration)

u can use opera as a default browser by -
Menu>Settings>Application settings> Default applications - just change default browser

To bring operaup to front screen -
Homescreen>Options>Edit Homescreen>Tap on a shortcut bar>Settings>Click on shortcut to replace>Replace

u can try UC Browser as an alternative but Opera's the best (the latest one)

hope this helped!!  Grin

Thanks, I got it working.  Logged into Gmail and Yahoo - no problem, looks nice.
Checked my Access Point for the web browser and it was set to Default.  Changed it to windmobile and voila worked fine.  I like the look and feel of it. did a search and found a youtube link clicked on it and made it full screen. It looks awesome. Surround Sound:cheesygri.   Like the fact that you can HDMI to your TV and do similar things to my apple TV.

 - Also got my maps working, it was trying to connect to my second option Access Point (I don't know why I have two with the same info: one is called Windmobile, the other Internet,)  was set for wind.COM but it should be .CA.  Worked Fine. It looks good.   I love the GPS and being able to get any maps for the GPS for free.
However when I tried to download some maps it was looking for a WiFi connection.  Don;t know why, can't it use the regular Internet ?

The phone is running PR1.1 , Should I update it to PRI 1.2 ?

I bought the phone unlocked so I had to configure it myself.

glad it helped.. i don't know why that happens with maps.. nd i wouldn't recommend PR1.2 as theres no improvements but i would recommend faenil's hacked H20 cfw (google it) .... btw if ur in canada, u should try mobilicity instead of wind, I find it to be a lot better (in terms off internet and customer service, wind has problems wiith it's internet network)  Grin

Thanks.  I will try that.  I got the apps working now and I’m really pleased that you can add whatever apps you have yon your phone and add them to your Home Screen.
I selected a WiFi spot and downloaded the maps.
How many Access Points do you have on your phone ?  I think I need only one as they are both the same.
I’m with Wind on the unlimited $40 plan.  I think Mobilicity is $45.  I missed the special.
