ok guys, this is my problem and i cant seem to get it working
i recently acquired a 8gb micro sd memory card to replace the 1gb i have for my n8
i copied everything off my memory card via mass storage onto my pc thinking that all i needed to do was copy them over, sadly this isnt the case.
When i put all my music on it it refreshed the library finding all the files only to see that all my playlist data is gone, ive got 280 songs and i really dont want to go 1 by 1 to resync them to the right place lists.
any ideas?

I might not be much-help with this but i think that playlists are stored somewhere weird like another directory or Drive; not-necessarily on the Card  - and that location depends on the App playing the tracks.   Also the Path would be VERY specific : so if you old card was called "2 Gig Card" and your new card is called "Sandisk" or something the playlist won't find the tracks - I Think.    [ I know haven't been very helpful : I don't use playlists, Nor the Nokia player : I have my tunes organised in folders like in Windows and I play them with MLauncher.org or FolderPlay on Sourceforge.net ]

A common complaint is about the memory card is lost or corrupted data. There are many, upload files to your computer, the photos on the card may be damaged or missing. The most important thing is to understand how the memory card is marked to prevent problems. This is not only because they can buy expensive, but also because they are often held dear in our hearts many photos.
