You're right. What actually drains the battery faster is the battery monitor. The same as in android (as I have the HTC Sensation XE), instead of helping you manage the battery charge, the battery monitor does the opposite. When it's active, it's constantly using the CPU to display the approximate charge left on the battery. This, in turn, sucks up battery juice big time. So instead of relying on the battery monitor, use the battery level indicator on the notification tray. You practically don't need the battery monitor anyway. I use my N8's wifi at work and at home. Even with the wifi turned on the whole time, I can still get three day's worth of battery kick.

According to me , It is very wired thing to say but N8 battery is really worst. Because of that i have to faced many problems. My n8 usually stays for one whole day before i recharge it and the remaining battery either the whole 7 bars or 6 bars, but with battery monitor, i have to charge twice daily or more with remaining battery of half or less!!
