I have had my N8 for two days but I am not yet using it as my primary phone because I'm waiting for a case but I have been customising it and this includes using phone switch.

I imported all the messages from my 6220c but more than 100 have had the date changed to the day of transfer and some did not transfer at all.  My 6220c message folders are:

Inbox: 981
Drafts: 1
Sent: 597
My folders - Templates: 10
                  Inbox archive: 170
                  Sent archive: 884

Any ideas?

Cheers

sync the old phone with pc , then transfer them to new n8
Or you can use bluetooth to send all the mssgs from a phone ....
Or you can sync the old phone with gmail or yahoo....then sync with new phone....thats how i manage..
i sync all contacts ,calendars ,etc  with gmail....when i want to transfer it to other phone, i just login my gmail from mail for exchange...but srry buddy ,as only this method doesnt work with messages, works with emails.

Hi

Thanks but I don't have any emails, only sms and mms.

I have tried the phone switch application by bluetooth (phone to phone) plus pc suite and ovi suite by usb cable.  Phone switch transfers all of the messages but the dates get broken on some.

Backing up my 6220c and restoring to the N8 with the pc software only restores about half of my messages and the dates break anyway.

I've narrowed down the date problem to the import of MMS messages.  It seems regular text messages are not affected but I have no idea how to fix it.

Apparently PC suite 6.8 was OK but I've got 7.1.40.6 and I can't find the installer for the old one.
