hey folks

Tried to downflash to 13,16 from 14,02 with phoenix and somewhere a long the flashing something went wron. All of a sudden the computer couldnt see the device and i cant turn it on anymore.

Becasuse it cant see the device and it wont charge i cant flash using "dead phone" mode :S.

The symptoms are:

- i can feel the vibrator when trying to turn it on
- ive tried 8 sec turn on reset and can feel the 3 buzzes but nothing happens
- ive triede the 3 button method and can feel the 3 buzzes but nothing happens
- when i plug in my usb cabel my computer recognises a device (can here the usb sound) then disconnects it just after (can hear the usb sound)
- when i plug in the charger. The chargin light on the side blinks about 30 times then stops. After that nothing blinks og happens.

Have had the charger plugged in for a bout 10 min now and still nothing :S

Any guess you guys?Huh

Really sad sitting home not having a phone that works :S

Solution is very simple...
It is not possible to downgrade the N8 using phoenix...

To correct the issue now:
Download the 14.002 firmware using navifirm, and reflash following the dead phone flashing procedure posted in Hacks and Tricks in 'Debranding your N8 - Tutorial"

Thx for advice. Ill try that. The part about me choosing connection "offline" was what i had done wrong earlier when trying dead phone flashing Smiley.

But regarding the 14.02 version using phoenix.

Dont i need a cracked UDA???

Cracked uda only if you want to jaibreak your N8.
Otherwise just install the custon firmware to get a working phone?!
If you want to crack your own uda use navifirm plus

having basically the same problem on my wifes E7 except it started all by itself , no failed downgrade or upgrade attempts. When connecting to phoenix I dont seem to get all the options other folks are seeing . Also , is there somewhere I can get the firmware from other than using Navifirm as it only seems to find about 6 files , not the approximately 19 mentioned by others or the "at least 9" mentioned in the debranding thread.
The E7 is an Australian Vodaphone model and Nokia have declared the warranty comletely void since the flimsy little plastic bit that holds the keyboard open has snapped.

Hi I am new to this I just signed up because I have been looking for a solution for almost a month now. I have N8 which is all dead and now I tried to flash "dead phone flash" but when I click refurbish I get a pop up saying to disconnect the phone press the power for 8 sec and the connect the phone and press ok but nothing happens. I have tried many times. The process fails as Phoenix cannot connect with the phone. Can anyone please give me a solution.

Please can some one help me. My other N8 just got stuck on Nokia Logo it blinks and nothing happens. i tried to flash it many times but nothing is happening.



Any help would be appreciated.

Same problem here. Black screen. Bliking battery diod and if I connect phone over USB after 3 seconds is automaticly disconnected. I trying many options which I found over google but all failed. No one say how fix this automaticly disconnecting N8 from USB.

I was looking for the solution of this month. Just stuck my N8 Nokia signs, flashing but  nothing happened. I tried to flicker repeatedly, but nothing happened. I tried to overtake Google, I found a lot of choices, but all ended in failure. No how to fix this fully automatic disconnect from the USB the N8 ..
