Its the time when video calling and internet calling are the great gifts of science and technology. Fring is one of such applications that is using for doing these. I dnt know if its safe for new symbian^3 devices like N8 or not! Waiting for your reply Grin

Yes it works but everytime you restart the phone Fring launches. It can be disabled thre the settings of Fring.

Hi to all..

Fring works fine on mine and i love it.. Just for the text message only..

thaddyusmaximus .. The default setting of fring is it will start automatically.. If u don't like them u should try to do this..

Open fring software on your phone -> option -> setting -> personalize -> Automatic start -> disable..

It should not start automatically after this..

Thanks..

Text chatting works ok on the N8 and improvements have been made to video calling. Not as effective as Skype VC but until thats available Fring is what I use. It's 'adequate' but not great.
Couple of issues I have -
There is no notification of new messages displayed on the phone - you must go into Fring to check -
would be good if the N8 application button/light flashed (only does so for sms messages or missed calls)
If you close the chat screen and go back into it - you lose the text from your conversation.

Voice calls/video calls   - so so
Chat - adequate

Fring works just great with the N8 and you can find it and download it for free on Nokia OVI store !

fring is nonsense, doesnt compare remotely to facetime. its a 3rd party spyware app from israel. beware which accounts and passwords you load in.
nokia shoots itself in the foot they pave the way for apple technology, yet apple sees so much more succes with it why? because they listen to the user.
