According to the nokia's other sources its been announced that the skype would be releasing a new application for specially N8 to make it possible to make a video call from the phone's 3g or wifi connection. Just like the iphone4 is having right now...
Its good to know that gradually this phone is becoming the world's most popular smart phone !! Don't you think its a great progress for this phone!

hi bro as you say 100 % right but nokia still need to improve N8 what ever problem facing know all the bugs they need to settle then only the phone will becoming the world's most popular smart phone if not then forget it. but i hope nokia should do some thing on N8 application n system.improve it. i am sure N8 user will happy if N8 problem solve. by releasing the version no use only but they need to settle all the problem / bugs  then only release the version. so that on next version they can release the new version come with new application and better performance. do you agree with my statement. my point is before they release the new version they must see what is current problem that user facing they cant get source from this forum or others they need to settle all the problem then release it.

i hope this gets implemented into the skype, cuz i would really love to use video chat, used the skype app tho pretty cool

Call someone on video
It’s free to call people on video.
Make sure you've got a webcam and check:
- it's plugged into your computer
- you've installed the software that came with it
- it's switched on.

In your Contact list, find the person you want to talk to.
Click on them.

In the main window, click the green Video call button.
