i'm a total noob with smart fons, this is my first one actually (though my previous fons were all nokia, express music was my last before this)..

Hi All,
In general I am not happy with my N8.  Just thinking each software update takes my phone back. Skype lost and today I could manage to find a Skype update. My bank application lost, İ cannot find update. Communicator...I could never manage to make it working. Life is getting harder with this device. I am thinking Symbian has lots of problems but these problems are conveyed to N8 device satisfation. Are we supposed to be IT specialists ? Thanks.

I too have N8 battery problems for a long time. of course I am one of the early purchaser of N8 instrument in Chennai. The battery charge life in this model is not satisfactory. I was asked once to go to the customer care centre to update the software and after updating, the battery life went to 5 hrs only in normal use.( normally I make 8 to 10 calls an hour) not browsing much. Then after reporting to the CC they called me back and reloaded the original software and it did better. Any way the battery life will not even for one full day when we use browsing, calling busily, and doing other applications. Very poor battery life! At lease the Nokia co. can supply us at cheaper prices to replace new battery.

Recently the software update message appeared often. I had ignored it. Person from Nokia called and asked me to update software. I told them about the updated software is lesser battery power life. They said the battery life could be better. I decided and updated the software and updated it. The new software seems to be of lesser problems. It seems the Nokia has worked on the complaints and improved it. Hope the new software shall be good. The price compared to other models of smart phoned, N8 seems to be expensive. If at all the battery life is good, the Nokia N8 is a better choice.

I was gifted Nokia N8 before a year. But I had not started to use it since last week. Now I am using this phone as my primary phone. So I am getting familiar about the Great features of this phone.
