Hi everyone, I just got a N8 in Canada, PR 1.0
I am having trouble moving ring tones from the microSD to the actual phone.
I would copy the mp3 ring tones to the ring tone folder in both E: and C: "Ring tones" folder, then proceed to edit my profile only to find that the new ring tones didn't appear on the current ring tone selection list.
(wherever I copy the ring tones to, when i go to Tone profiles > Ring tone > Tones, It wouldn't show up there)
This is what I mean:
*When you want to change the ring tone, you have 3 directories to chose from:
Tone profiles > Ring tone > Tones (this is where all the default ring tones are. Exactly how can I move ring tones from the micro SD to this directory?)
^^^I want my new ring tones to be in this directory, but I can't find out how to actually save in there^^^
Tone profiles > Ring tone > Songs (this picks up every mp3 file from the memory card, and pre installed music files on the phone it seems)
^^^This is how I am currently using my ring tones. I don't want this. I want to move all my ring tones to the above directory so I can delete the tones in my memory card^^^
Tone profiles > Ring tone > Sound clips (this file came empty, I don't even have time to worry about what this is. What I am trying to do is put a RING TONE in to the TONES folder, not sound clips, not songs, because a ring tone is a ring tone.)
I have tried to find out exactly where the N8 stores its default ring tones, and using file manager, I have failed to do so. The "Ring tones" folder in the E: and C: drive shows NO FILES at all, not even the pre-installed ring tones that came with the phone. I can't even find out where the default ring tones are located.
