I have a N8 and have a thought on how to turn off the internet on the phone temporarily? I think it is called roaming. I will go abroad for a week (Greece), and of course I don't want to get a huge phone bill when I come home.  I do not need any apps or the like when I'm there so I want to turn off my internet completely. I than have to reconfigure somme apps (like GPS) to use the good APN. you may also try to configure the phone to use WiFi only while roaming, but I am unsure is some apps can bypass this and still connect.
