Just got my new Orange N8 unlocked with a code from these guys http://www.foneszone.co.uk/

£25 & only a day wait for the code, my local High St guy quoted £55 & said it'd take
6 - 10 days to get the code from Orange.

Good news for people who cannot unlock their phone because the wrong code was introduced more than 3-5 times depending of your phone and maybe providers.
Last days after I bought from ebay the code I got the message when I tried to unlock that "NOT ALLOWED". The seller from ebay told me that they can certify that the code they sent is the right one and for sure the wrong code was introduce more than 3-5 times, and now the only option is to unlock by code and software but unfortunately they don't deal with such a method.

After several days of research I found the software and the method to unlock if my code was the right one; and it was because I managed to unlock it. I already tested with to sim from different providers and got ok.

Good luck, also you can check the lock status of your phone with that small program, recently I unlocked a Nokia c3 in this way.

hi..im from philippines and my N8 is SMART Sim locked..is there any other way to turn off the sim restriction without paying to my carrier? thanks
