Author Topic: applications filling up C: drive, why ?  (Read 4816 times)

Hello,

Had completely reflashed my phone, and noted that following this i had some 140 MB free on C: drive.
Then checked on my Ovi Store account and double checked that all applications must install on E: drive ( mass memory ).
Now, after installing some apps, and having two e-mail accounts and 6 rss feeds active, i notice that free mem is lower, towards 115 MB.
In between, i had deleted the MS Communicator, and Social ( have no interest in FB or tw ), but still no avail, as soon as i install any new app, C: drive is lowering free space.
Before reflah, i was as low as 10 MB hence the need for refresh.

Now, is anyone that is aware of this ? how can i avoid again filling up again the C: drive ? is there a setting for this that i missed ?
Is there any file(s) that can be safely deleted on C: ?
any comments appreciated..

best regards,
radu

You can transfer things from phone memory to Mass memory by holding on item that you want to move and the options will pop up like delete, move, etc. Also, when connecting phone to PC with USB make sure it's on mass memory by: on main screen of the phone, on top right corner click on USB and then click on "mass storage" .
Let us know if that helped

i do not think that there is any file that you can delete on C:, or move.. anyway, not one fiel that is big enough.. .log or .txt file are not interesting from this point of view.
i really need something that makes applications installing on E: there is enough space, is there any other setting otherthat one found in Store app ?

Other then that your text messages saves on phone memory automatically. So, if you have a lot of text messages you can erase them and it'll free some space on disc C

The only other thing I can think of is that when you look at ovi suite it shows disc C is full, but when looking in the phone it show 140 free. So look in both ovi suite and phone.
