Via hacking it, you should be able to download and install whatever you want.  This would include unbranding your phone or switching to any other branding if desired.

is easy and done in three sec.

Use Nemesis Service Suite

That's unbranding, there you need also Nemesis Service Suite and Nokia Software Updater (NSU) also part of OVI suite

For both of you guys here's a link where you find the necessary info : http://nokia.nigelcoldwell.co.uk/firmware.htm

phoenix is good, if you use it correctly, there where no problems at all with phoneix.

it's just a methode of flashing, you can use also Nokia software updater for it

I used to use Nemesis, now i use Phoenix on my N8.
So didn't know that Nemesis not work on N8

In Phoenix there is that option to change the product code.
I use Phoenix for flashing custom firmware, and tuning of other things in my phone.

and afterworths for testing it.

i don't have any problem with Phoenix, so i ask myself why it should be dangerous? if you do something wrong maybe....

if you just read the menu's of Phoenix is no problem, but if you're going to tweak etc, then you can do something wrong and do you have to flash nagain.

You can flash with Phoenix btw without loosing any data of contacts, pics, vids or music.

you ask for pic? i just made one, here you can see RM-596 N8 plugged in, and that i can change my product code if i whant.
But i don't whant or have to lol.

In the pic, my production serial i made it black in paint, normally you have there you nr, but i don't whant to put it on internet Smiley

connect phone in OVI Suite mode,

ovi suite on pc will start auto, kill it, close it.

start Phoenix

(Look on me last screenshot above)
Select usb connection = usb1 - RM596

Click on : File - Scan product

Left under in corner says : ready

Click on Product - Production data edit

then you got the screenshot i just gave you, just change the number and click : Write.

Disconnect phone, restart phone, connect again and check if code is changed, that's it.
