here you guys go, install guide

1) Download and install Phoenix 2010 cracked (http://rapidshare.com/#!download|404dt|429951095|Phoenix_Service_Software_2010.38.005.44210.exe|102773)

2) Download navifirm 0.4, and the UDA you wish to flash

3) Open Navifirm, and wait for it to load the Products list, then hit N8 (RM596)

4) Select 11.12 and wait for navifirm to load the Variants list

5) Use the search variants box at the bottom to look for the product code of your phone (you can find the product code on the transparent sticker which was on the back of your N8 when you bought it, mine is 0599857******, 0599857 is the product code) then hit MARK ALL, and then DOWNLOAD WITH THE PROGRAM, and choose the directory where you want to download the OFFICIAL firmware files

6) Once you have downloaded the official firmware files, copy those files to “C:/Program Files(x86)/Nokia/Phoenix/Products/RM-596″ which is the directory where Phoenix will look to get the files it needs to flash the firmware to your N8

7) Connect your N8 via USB cable and open PHOENIX

Cool Hit File–>Scan Product, and then hit Flashing–>Firmware Update

9) In the firmware update screen, you’ll see that Phoenix have found the firmware files of the official firmware you downloaded from navifirm (if it doesn’t find any firmware, add the directory C:/Program Files(x86)/Nokia/Phoenix in all the three boxes in Tools–>Options–>Product Location, and repeat step 8 ) , now hit REFURBISH

10) Now a warning dialog box will appear, telling you that one file is missing. THIS STEP IS THE MOST IMPORTANT. Do not click anything on the warning box, just minimize Phoenix screen, go to the folder where you downloaded the hacked UDA file (decompress the .7z file using peazip or 7zip first), and copy it to C:/Program Files(x86)/Nokia/Phoenix/Products/RM-596 .

11) If it asks you to overwrite say yes, then go back to Phoenix and hit yes on the warning dialog box. If it doesn’t ask you to overwrite the file, rename the OFFICIAL UDA FILE to something else (for example, if the name of the official UDA file is RM-596_011.012_U01.01_79.92_prd.uda.fpsx, rename it to RM-596_011.012_U01.01_79.92_prd_ORIGINAL.uda.fpsx) and rename the HACKED UDA to the former name of the OFFICIAL UDA FILE (the name of the hacked uda is RM-596_011.012_U03.01_79.92_prd.uda.fpsx, in this case you have to rename it to RM-596_011.012_U01.01_79.92_prd.uda.fpsx, which is the name of the UDA you download from navifirm)

12) Now go back to the Phoenix’s warning dialog box, and hit YES, and wait for the flashing process to complete Smiley

13) Done Smiley Now you can install unsigned apps Smiley

ENJOY Smiley

It gives an error message:

"Neither DP1 nor DP2 was found for the product, or the Product cannot be identified"

I have referred to many forums, and they advised to copy firmware files @ "C:\Program Files\Nokia\Phoenix\Products\RM-596"which i did. But, still there is no go... comes up with same error message.

I also need some advise from you experts before I flash :

(1) My N8 Product Code is : 059C4Z7. Now, if I need to use this in India, do I need to install "INDIA GR (0599313)" firmware via navifirm?
(2) This would change my device product code to :0599313, from 059C4Z7. Does that change something?? I am not bothered about my warranty... Just need to check if this new firmware works with Indian network.
(3) I have already downloaded a dump of my current data package (based on my current product code). If anything goes wrong, during flashing... can I revert using the firmware I downloaded?
(4) I have Ovi and Nokia PC Suite installed on my PC (Windows XP 32 bit). Is it stopping Phoenix to detect my product?

Please, I need your help in unlocking my phone. This peice is just a flash drive, movie player, audio player, gaming device as of now.... Need to use it as a phone.

Awaiting for some inputs...Thanks

Hi

Its detecting firmware now.., but still confused.

(1) Can I use Indian firmware (downloaded from navifirm) to flash my N8 (which is currently having UK 3 GB GREY rom, Product Code # 059C4Z7?
(2) Which mode do I need to keep my phone (Ovi Suite mode or USB Mode)?
(3) will it work with indian mobile networks if I flash it with Indian firmware.., because this is currently locked by UK 3 network. unable to find unlock code.
(4) any precautions I need to take before I start flashing?

¿Will be possible to disable red light when recording video?

I too would like that, the red light wakes my baby up when I record videos of him sleep.

Thanks

Thanks for the custom firmware faenil, it works for me. I used Phoenix Service Software 2010.12.011.42838.
I tried multiple custom uda which are readily available on the net (google is you friend) and it all successfully boot and accepting unsigned apps.
Tip/s to some users who are encountering some problems with their flashing attempt:
1. Be sure to close other applications while flashing the firmware. during my first attempt, phoenix shutdown unexpectedly during flashing, I'm running Firefox, media player, etc. and base on my experience application that unexpectedly exits/terminats means no more memory. Luckily there is a way to flash dead phone on phoenix.
2. If an error was encountered during flashing and the phone won't boot, remember that not all unbootable phone is already bricked. I thought my phone(n8) was dead because it wont boot, and it only shakes every time I tried to power on. But after following the procedure on dead phone flashing, it works again.
3. Patience! It took me 4 attempts before it worked properly. Afterward, I flashed my phone again for 3 more times just to be sure that its not luck that I figure it out (NOTE:I did flashed my phone 3 more time because I want to try the custom firmwares that I downloaded).
Happy New Year to all and good luck!  Grin

Hi. I'm obviously a newbie here. I've had some problems with my N8 and did a hard reset. Now Ovi store is gone and I want it back by flashing it with phoenix (with the original FW). Well, I did everything exactly whats in this thread. However it still result to this... always like this... even tried dead phone flashing... still this error came up:

Code:
HRESULT 0x8401f141 (-2080247487)

Flash: Boot rom was not detected after phone boot up. Unable to start flashing.

something I noticed is that the drivers go from screenie1 to screenie2 every few secs. and when my n8 turns off, the charging led indicator blinks.

What could possibly went wrong?

Phoenix Service Software 2010.38.005.44210
Ovi suite or anything that could have conflict with the usb drivers are not installed.
