its been a 4 days still i didnt get cer-key from series60 n opda site....so all i left with jailbreaking option....so can any one plz tell me is it possible to jailbreak this config N8

I need help please!!! I was trying to upgrade to symbian belle and something went wrong during flashing now my phone is dead!! I've tried doing what u said on your post but is not working i get all kind of errors.. the i realize u said to use phoenix 2010 y have 2011 so i downloaded 2010 but know i can't even open it it says something about a nokia danlge y to try agian.. im getting very desperate please someone help me!!

Flash: Boot rom was not detected after phone boot up. Unable to start flashing."

ERROR: Failed to set phone to flashmode

i dont know what im doing wrong.. y dowloaded de links u gave ... please some body help!!

My advise;-I used firmware files and soft phoenix bought from ebay from a seller named thomasz. Do a search, if not I can post the link again but i think I already did it. Also he can help to downgrade or to do a dead phone flash; good luck. When you do things like that you have to be certain 100% of success - that's why i preferred to pay to be sure I won't mess my phone.

Dear friend, look in this thread, I've posted how to downgrade the
software to a SCANDINAVIA DG (0598984) firmware version (you can
download it with Navifirm from the Quality assurance server), I have
successfully recovered from the same error condition in this way. From
that firmware version you can later upgrade to every newer firmware.

Leave Anna behind and go for Belle, its awesome, is like you got a new phone, faster, no laggs, no stucks, no reboots, no hangs, just find a working download for Nokia Care Suite 4.0, then install it and open it, connect your phone wait whatever it is done there,when finish tap on product change code, choose one, I chose 0598986 uk_ireland version tap start, then in a bit more than 1/2 hours your n8 will shine with Belle. The only issue with Nokia care suite is that some how it is not installing on pc that had before installed phoenix. It didn't install on my laptop on which I played the downgrading and flashing to Anna but I was able to install on my desktop pc which hadn't any touch of phoenix, or nokia suite. Good luck!

Okay this thread is pretty out of date.
I have a Rogers N8, just updated to Anna OTA.
Phone is unlocked...

Can anyone provide any clear instructions and updated download links on how to debrand the phone?

I debranded my n8, and when Belle was available still I didn't get it so I installed using Nokia care suite 4.0, all got ok , my n8 works fine but there are some strange behavior, like some apps do not work despite that in ovi store a listed as compatible with n8 belle, the latest issue I had with advanced call manager, that was working properly for a week then stopped working, asking to install aps server to be able to use answering machine feature, do you know hoe can i solve it?Thanks

I think that is the page of the guy that cracked it.

Also you can find the last copy of Navifirm in the site:

That is also the page of the guy that made it.

The procedure is the same that Toosloo published in the first page. There is no reason to publish it again.

Hi,

My Girl friend bought a Nokia N8 from an auction site but the software on seems to me to be from a N97. There seems to be a lot of issues with it. We cant get it connected to OVI store, Maps and My Nokia. Even we cant change the themes. Only the internet and E-book reader are working. We looked at trying a restore to factory setting but the Pin is not 12345 or anything so we cant do that. The software details is

If i try to connect the phone to pc then it wont display the option of Nokia OVI suite option. It gives Mass storage, COM port and one more option.

Any ideas what i can do with this. I've never flashed a phone like this before. Shall i falsh my phone with N8 (RM596)? Will it work ?

Any comments or help greatly greatly appreciated. Awaiting your help...

There is two chances - one is either a chinese N8, or secondly is had been debranded wrongly. If it is not china N8 follow the steps below:
You have to install Nokia care suite 4.0, google it until you find a working one, istall it, and follow the software checking of your phone than choose -product code change, choose one, personally I chose uk_ireland one, 0598986 , start and leave the soft to do the job and in 45 min you will have Belle. Good luck!
