yes, maybe. older versions were simple... and you wouldn't expect for so much from a phone...

Everything.

I bought the phone in November from Nokia UK while I was overseas, mistake no.1.
As by the time I returned to the UK i was outside the 'cooling off period' not that I knew this was going to be an issue at the time.

Anyway finally got home charged up the phone and removed my sim card from my old phone and put it the N8, things only got worse from here.

Tried to make a phone call and the phone switched off and then restarted.
tried to open an App the phone switched off and restarted.
every time I tried to do something it switched off.
It eventually stayed on long enough for me to connect to my home WLAN network.
Contacted Nokia and was talked through a hard reset, this achieved nothing.
Tried to update the software through OVI, but the handset would never stay on long enough.
took the phone to my local care centre left it with them for a week and when I got it back tried to make a phone call and guess what it switched off and restarted.
Phone was sent back to Nokia UKl, I contacted Nokia UK and told them I wanted a new handset as the one I was supplied was obviously not fit for use.they said they would not replace it.
So I have a two month old phone that I have as yet been unable to make so much as a single phone call on.
Everytime it seems to have restarted it seems to have connected to my service providers connection service rather straight on my WLAN and used up all my credit (In the UK so little its not worth having a contract).
All in all so far its proved acpomplete waste of money and I wish I'd gone for iphone.
Nokia UK are as much use as a chocolate fire guard and no help whatsoever, the customer means nothing to them once they have your money.

I really think I'm lucky whenever I contact some company with a problem.

I've managed to get attention from Nokia Support here in Brazil, without even calling them. I just posted a request in the Ovi Store and they called me to help.

It was the same with Nokia Care US, Finnland and Betalabs... which I contact through twitter and in the Betalabs Forum.

This manufacturing problems here were almost all of them in the first shipment of pre-order sent direct to the customers.

In Brazil if you but a mobile in the store, you will always leave the store with your SIM card already installed and the salesperson will give you the first tips on how to use the mobile and if there is a problem in the first seven days you get a new mobile from the store.

Best regards,

Mauricio

Recieved the habdset back from Nokia Uk, 'your phone has been repaired and tested Sir', not sure what the test involves but within 2 minutes of me inserting the Sim and switching it one, guess what it turned off again announcing itself switching back on with Nokia tune, it proceeded to this every couple of minutes before I switched it off for good.

Following your comment I tried my globalsim card and the same thing happened.

The only good news is Nokia have now agreed to replace the handest, I just the replacement works.

So far the whole thing unfortunetly. When I got my first one it lasted 3 day's before returning it and waiting 8 day's for my new one. Now the second one lasted 2 month's and started doing the same thing, which was freezing and shuting itself down all the time. The current one I have to turn it off at least 4-5 time's a day to unfreeze it. And now today it just wont charge, so now it's flat it no longer work's. So it has to go back again and get sent away, which I was told could take up to 6 week's. I have been a Loyal Nokia user and it's slowly slipping away. the third and final chance will come after I finally get it back and see how  it goe's then. I hope it get's fixed and the problem's get solved as when the phone is going it is a great phone. So finger's crossed it come's back going strong. and less than 6 week's would be a major plus.
