got nokia n8 last night. bought it from my mom :p. i had an nokia n95 before and the music player was awesome. the nokia n8s music player is really bad imo. i spent hours last night to tag all my music to album arts but there are still 2 albums not wanting to change album art. in nokia n95 you could do this in the phone... You also cant change the song name etc like you could do in n95. also not being able to search for songs is annoying when u have 4k+ songs Sad please nokia. update the music player

Here is a mod that allows you to edit song meta data in the music player. Your phone needs to be hacked though.
Also you cna search for songs through the search app or the search widget on your homescreen if you use it.

If all your music is ripped & tagged correctly from your computer in the first place then there should be no problem.
Tagging problems normally occur from music downloaded from p2p sites which have either not been tagged, or are tagged incorrectly, which most people tend to ignore.
Album art on the N8 is stored within the tag on the mp3 tracks themselves.
Check each track in the album, one of your tracks obviously contains the wrong picture data.
(some mp3 tags are write protected. if this is the case, you have to clear the tag first, then add the new info)
If you want a good mass tag editor (free)  try this  http://sourceforge.net/projects/massid3lib/

The only con of hacking your phone is you void your warranty. However, if you do hack your phone, you can install any app or mod you want. Here is a new mod to hack your phone without flashing a custom firmware. I have not tested it as my phone was already hacked.

However, I do agree with Quazar here. It would be much easier to edit your songs through your pc.

i have tagged pictures. but i cant really write down all songs with some misspelling. i have 4k+ songs and it would be nice for me to just be able to edit quickly in the phone when i see something is wrong Smiley

If you try the editor I gave you a link to,

temporarily move all your music from the phone to ONE folder on your Pc.
Open the program & navigate to that folder.
EVERY track will be listed in window.
you can sort whichever way you want,
scroll down the list & edit either each one or mass edit a group at once.
once finished, transfer back to phone.

MUCH quicker than any phone editing.

It does take time to master the program, but well worth it & VERY powerful.
If you go through all your music on the pc, once its done its done for any device, including pc media players lol.
Shouldnt take you more than a couple of hours to check 4000 songs - some may not need editing.
I have about 500,000 tracks on pc, done the lot in a week (couple of hours a night)
now when I copy anything to anywher data is all correct

You can look for a music player that suits your needs. You just need to explore.
