@ Snowhite0901 -- I'm just curious, how do you find the quality of the pictures? In particular, I'm referring to pictures with the flash. I took some pictures and posted them online to demonstrate what I'm experiencing. Not sure if it's user error or if this is normal.

I've noticed a white fuzz (like noise or static) whenever I use my flash. If you wouldn't mind, please take a look at some of these pictures I've taken and let me know what your thoughts are on the quality of the images. Is that white noise/static normal? Do you have the same problem? I find that 9 times out of 10, I'm better off not using the flash.

I have the same problem - the flash seems to wash out my photos.  I prefer to leave the flash off....

Even without a flash you pictures looks horrible. Maybe your lens is dirty? Because it looks like it is not clean. Thats a little minus that camera is not covered with something, like was previously mine C905. And it constantly gets dirty.. So try cleaning it.
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=198752&start=165

Thats the pictures that N8 can do.
As for the OP.. I have mine N8 about month now too, and i'm fully happy with it, and don't regret it.
About OS advantages.. As for now - android > Symbian, because now android is on hype now, many developers, many android phone buyers, many games and etc etc, buut its all about what you need. N8 had the hardware i needed, and symbian is great too, there is apps, there is games too, android phones had android, but their hardware is kinda shitty for that price that i wanted to buy N8(i was choosing N8 vs HTC Desire, but desire has just too many minuses, and that one big plus(android) is not enough). Soo in the end.. Its all about price and what you need from the phone Smiley

Just curious, when you got your phone....did you remove that see-through sticker which protects the lens? I never removed mine, so I'm thinking maybe that's why they look distorted.

**EDIT** Just did a random search on Google with the terms "Nokia N8" + sticker + lens
and came up with this hit

 http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CBUQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Ftopic.php%3Fuid%3D116957344991171%26topic%3D183&rct=j&q=%22Nokia%20N8%22%20sticker%20lens&ei=eOhMTf7hJIH3gAfP9t3VDw&usg=AFQjCNH98xF32gDREO1G7P4paqeLPWNhiA&sig2=Wm8_vIE8FqarP7mK3EJjXw&cad=rja.

Crikey.....I think that's why my pics always look crappy! LOL. But please do tell, did you remove YOUR sticker? If I do remove the sticker, I'm afraid it might leave the glass more susceptible to scratches. There must be a way to temporarily protect the screen when the camera feature is not in use.   Embarrassed

I thought the camera glass was also made from gorilla glass. Pretty hard to scratch - not impossible, but you'd have to do something serious to scratch it.

I don't know; I'd sure feel more at ease if there was some literature about the camera lens being made from gorilla glass, or failing that, something that was made to withstand the everyday elements.

Regardless, I've taken the plunge and discarded the see-through sticker that was covering the camera lens. After I took a couple of pictures with it off it was very clear that the sticker was having a very negative effect on the quality of my images. WOW.

Just hope my lens doesn't get scratched up. In the meantime I'll be looking out for something that can cover my camera lens, but be easily removed and re-applied for when I'm not using the camera function (just to be safe).

Please keep me informed if you find something.

Nokia N8 with Belle it is worth to have, but with basic version or Anna version is a crap; same if you have your phone bought from Rogers it is a bigger crap. All the restriction put their for carrier is making the phone to have many issues, now after debranding and upgrade to Belle  you can compare with top notch phones, at least my N8 now has no issues is very fast, and rocks!
Comparison with android I can say only with android 2.3; I have a tablet with android 2.3 so I can say that for some apps is better then N8 and for some is not, depends of your needs, I don't use for playing games or so, just messaging, calls and internet. Android is better to watch online videos.Hope it helped, good luck!
If I were you I'll go with the newest android phones, if you need for games or internet videos; if not go for N8 with Belle no carriers restriction, take care!

I say no it is not worth for buying the Nokia smartphone in compared to Android or iOS. I think it is worthless and It has nice features compared to other phone like android or iOS. iOS is highest price and nice features also. But If you are Nokia lover then you should choose Nokia for same features and lowest price.
