There is nothing in the user guide about the cut and paste function. Does the N8 allow cutting and pasting?

Sure it does. That is a bizarre question. This is not a Window7 smartphone, this is a Symbian smartphone!

Exactly, this is a Symbian smartphone with cut and paste, it seems, but there is no mention of it in the user guide. If there is, where have you found it?

Do you mean that Windows 7 smartphones do not allow cut and paste?

Right, I have read that the new smartphones Windows do not allow cut and past, but this will be corrected in a futur update.
When usinfg the keyboard, select the text, then copy. You can paste what is on in the clipboard ( what you have selected) in another application with the paste function in the keyboard.

I miss a small application that allows to paste when needed the most common sentences or words that I use all the time, like my email address or Sincerely or my signature. Would be nice to have this on the N8

It is a mystery why the N8 does not have templates (the E63 I currently use does), but that is relatively easy to solve by keeping all your ‘templates’ in a Word file, and cutting and pasting as needed. Not ideal, but probably the best option until the relevant Symbian^3 update.

there is no cut and paste for the file browser. they who say it are lying.
its like osx, you copy and then you delete.
no such ting as cut and paste in the native file browser.
the menu says(translating):
  send
  delete
  copy to
  mark
  edit name
  details
cut and paste for text works.

"no cut and paste for the file browser"

How about ‘copy to’ the selected text to another file or application? Does this work?

There was a nice app for clipboard for Symbian 3, but it has not been updated for a while.

Cut, copy and paste isn't as good as people say. We need FULL functionality across all text in every apps.

There is an easy solution for that, just teach T9 to autocomplete the expressions, after a few strokes it already suggests the all sentence, like e-mails or whole phrases.

Best regards,
